King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is a global top-tier law firm with over 1,700 staff in Australia.KWM has continued its long-standing commitment to enabling staff to contribute their time and skills to the community. The program is fully integrated into KWM’s social impact ambitions, creating consistency at a national level and enjoying strong support from the most senior levels of the firm. The firm also commits a significant budget to the program.

Their pro bono and volunteering strategy is regularly communicated to all staff, encouraging participation in a range of specialist & community services that advance KWM’s strategic objective. Examples of communications include hosting monthly thought leadership events, monthly impact workshops for community partners, use of intranet, newsletters and noticeboards, Ambassador programs and information in new starter’s kits.

In the last 12 months, KWM’s Social Mobility platform, which includes KWM School of Opportunity, Waiwa Mudena and KWM First Nations Fellowship, has continued to support young people via training, mentoring and employment opportunities.

KWM’s community impact strategy continues to strive for success with plans for stronger engagement with core community partners and overall growth to provide at least 35,000 pro bono hours per year.
